Lotus Root Fry

Lotus Root Fry Recipe:


- 1 lotus root

- 1 teaspoon turmeric

- Salt to taste

- 2 tablespoons oil

- 1 teaspoon mustard seeds

- Few curry leaves

- 1 onion, diced


1. Peel the lotus root and cut it into thin slices longitudinally.

2. In a pot, boil the sliced lotus root with a teaspoon of turmeric for 5-8 minutes until slightly tender. Then, strain and set aside.

3. Heat oil in a pan over medium heat.

4. Add mustard seeds and curry leaves to the hot oil. Let them splutter for a few seconds.

5. Add diced onions to the pan and sauté until they turn translucent.

6. Now, add the boiled lotus root slices to the pan.

7. Season with salt according to taste.

8. Stir-fry everything together for a few minutes until the lotus root slices are well-coated with the spices and onions.

9. Once done, transfer to a serving dish.

10. Serve hot and enjoy your delicious lotus root fry!
