The building is split into various play zones, featuring active areas for exploratory play, a stage for theatrical performances, storytelling, puppet shows, and video presentations, along with spaces for guided learning.


• Historic Carousel: Enjoy a ride on this beautifully restored carousel, a delight for visitors of all ages.The carousel, featuring hand-carved horses and two chariots, was originally built in 1918 by the Philadelphia Toboggan Company and was the 45th carousel of its kind to be created. It has previously been in operation at the Cincinnati Zoo and the Great America Theme Park in Santa Clara, California.

Operating Hours

• Regular Hours: Open daily from 9:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

• Early Closure: Please note, the zoo will close early at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 1, 2025, for the “Love Shucks!” event. 


Renovations and Exhibit Closures

Love Shucks! Oysters, Wine & Wild Romance

• Date: Saturday, March 1, 2025

• Time: 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.

• Details: This inaugural event offers a tasting flight of sustainable Northwest oysters paired with local wines. Guests will also learn about animal dating and mating behaviors from zoo experts. Please note, this is a 21+ event, and valid ID is required. 


Rose Pruning Demonstration

• Time: 12:00 p.m.
