Ladoo

Ingredients:

- 1 cup fried gram dal

- 1 cup sugar

- 150 ml ghee

- Handful of cashews, roughly chopped

- 1 teaspoon cardamom powder

Preparation Time: 15 minutes

Serving Size: Makes approximately 12 dessert balls

Instructions:

1. Separate the fried gram dal and sugar into equal parts and grind them separately into fine powders using a blender or food processor.

2. In a mixing bowl, combine the powdered fried gram dal and sugar. Mix well until evenly combined.

3. Heat the ghee in a pan over medium heat. Add the roughly chopped cashews and cardamom powder to the melted ghee.

4. Roast the cashews until they turn golden brown and emit a fragrant aroma.

5. Once the cashews are roasted, pour the hot ghee mixture over the powdered fried gram dal and sugar mixture in the bowl.

6. Use a spoon to mix everything thoroughly until the ghee is evenly distributed, and the mixture comes together.

7. Allow the mixture to cool slightly until it is comfortable to handle.

8. With clean hands, take small portions of the mixture and roll them into bite-sized balls.

9. Repeat the process until all the mixture is used up, shaping each ball evenly.

10. Place the fried gram dal dessert balls on a serving plate and let them cool completely before serving.

Variations:

- For added flavor, you can sprinkle some grated coconut or finely chopped nuts on top of the dessert balls before serving.

- If you prefer a sweeter taste, you can increase the amount of sugar according to your preference.

- Experiment with different spices such as cinnamon or nutmeg to create unique flavor profiles.

- For a healthier alternative, you can substitute a portion of the ghee with melted coconut oil.

Enjoy these Fried Gram Dal Dessert Balls as a delightful treat after meals or as a tasty snack any time of the day!
